It’s something said in a religious context isn’t it?
Well no, not here anyway. Sacred to me is a humble appreciation for life and everything that has been gifted to us since the day we were born.
To put it simply, the moment we were born we were given a body to experience the world with. Just look at any very young baby and they are fascinated with their surroundings as everything they see, hear and touch is new to them. We may have forgotten our own very young years when everything was a quest to learn more about living in a physical body. An adventure on a path to the future, unfolding by the hour, then the days, weeks and finally the years.
The innocence of a child kept us more connected to the vastness and the mystery of life. The wonder of the natural world and impossibly fantastic night skies are examples of a child’s perception of the world and beyond.
I contend that that connection was/is a sacred connection to a higher power gifted to us at birth. If we then grow through the years with a humility , then we are walking a sacred path through life. Can you see that this has absolutely nothing to do with religion?
If children become exposed to ‘religious dogma’ then in my view they become programmed to believe something that was established by men (more than likely) hundreds of years back. This programming does not allow for a child to come to their own ideas and perceptions of the world. It interrupts their natural connection with a higher devine power.
When children are subjected to notions of sin, guilt and fear of a wrathful God then they are captured often for life to judgements of their religion.
A sacred approach to life
I believe that the more aware, the more conscious one becomes , at any age then the more a soul realises that there own path or journey through life is really made up of their own thoughts and actions. The is no God or anyone else standing in judgement of us. This does not mean we can do as we wish without consequence.
imagine a path to travel in your mind
It doesn’t end it goes on forever and you are the traveler. All your thoughts and feelings are guided along this path. This sacred path is your gift from a higher source for you to walk along. We are always learning from life and this never ends.
